Ashes 2023 | 'Australia won't forget...': Allan Border On Robinson's Aggressive Send-Off to Usman Khawaja

As expected things heated up during Day 3 of the ongoing first Ashes Test between England and Australia. Pacer Ollie Robinson castled Australian batter Usman Khawaja on 141, whose fall triggered a collapse for the visitors. However, Robinson went overboard with his aggressive send-off to Khawaja, which did not do go well with former players and fans.

Former Australian skipper Allan Border speaking on SEN Breakfast stated that Robinson will have to face sweet-chin music when he comes to bat, after his over-the-top celebration in heat of the moment. Ben Stokes and Co. bundled out Australia for 386, taking a seven-run lead, before rain halted play with England's second innings score on 28 for 2, with Ollie Pope and Joe Root batting on 0* and 0*, respectively.

Meanwhile, Robinson has categorically denied an apology for his send-off to Khawaja.

The 1987 World Cup-winning captain further hoped that Australia can bowl out the hosts cheaply on Day 4.

Here's what Border said

"I have heard some send-offs and have given some send-offs myself. It is a heat-of-the-moment sort of stuff. Generally, I think Robinson is a pretty fair bloke from what I gather. But, you get fired up as a big fast bowler, words are said and then afterwards, it's all forgotten about generally.

The media will jump on it, of course, but you know what goes around comes around, he's put a bit of a target on his head. When he comes out the bat, hopefully it’s early tomorrow, and the Aussies won't forget, that's for sure."

Former wicket-keeper Ian Healy echoed a similar view on Robinson as Border, adding that he should have been fined for inciting Khawaja.
