As India's captain against Australia in Mohali in the first ODI of the three-match series, KL Rahul is struggling with his big gloves behind the stumps on Friday (September 22). However, thanks to Suryakumar Yadav's astute fielding, one of his embarrassing woe ended up being a blessing in disguise.

Throughout Australia's innings, Rahul failed to take the ball smoothly more often than not. As a result, the Men in Blue conceded a few runs and missed a few wicket opportunities.

Surprisingly, one of them occurred in the innings' 40th over, and Rahul was saved by Suryakumar Yadav from suffering yet another embarrassment.

Cameron Green spotted Rahul couldn't properly grab Shami's slower delivery and started running after getting an edge. Then, after completing one run, Green wanted to complete two, but Josh Inglis was not interested and sent him back to his end.

Green had to complete almost full strides to get back to the crease after being so close to the strikers' end. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad's throw from the third was not too great. In spite of this, SKY managed to send Green packing with a sharp back-handed throw onto the stumps.

At the time of writing, Australia are 226/5 in 44 overs, with Marcus Stoinis and Josh Inglis in the middle, on 19* and 34* respectively.
