The ILT20 2026 eliminator between Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Dubai Capitals turned into an electric contest, with the knockout clash producing several thrilling moments. As the team secured a commanding 50-run victory, a strange no-ball from skipper Jason Holder stole the spotlight on the night.

However, it is also important to note that despite delivering an off-the-charts ball, Jason Holder finished among the top wicket-takers of the match with a three-wicket haul from just 3.2 overs.

Jason Holder stuns ILT20 with sky-high no-ball

Dubai is known for its hot and humid conditions, and the sweaty evening may have contributed to Jason Holder releasing a ball that sailed awkwardly into the sky.

While Dubai Capitals were chasing a target of 159 runs, Holder bowled a bizarre delivery that bamboozled not only the spectators but also the on-field umpire.

While bowling the fifth ball of the second over, Jason Holder completed his run-up cleanly, but as he attempted to release the ball from his wrist, it slipped out of his hand and went soaring high into the air.

Batter Shayan Jahangir tilted his head upwards as the ball flew past him towards first slip fielder Andre Russell.

As bizarre as the delivery was, Holder appeared visibly embarrassed yet amused, returning to his mark with a wide grin on his face. Russell, meanwhile, looked upset and disappointed as Jahangir calmly walked past the wicket to take his position.

The umpire eventually signalled it as a no-ball, which left several players on the field, including Jason Holder, slightly unhappy, as they believed it should have been ruled a dead ball instead. However, this incident did not change the outcome, as Abu Dhabi Knight Riders went on to win the match comfortably.

During the chase, Dubai Capitals lost wickets at regular intervals from the very start. Toby Albert was dismissed in the second over by Jason Holder himself, followed by Jordan Cox in the third over, with Shayan Jahangir also departing in the fourth.

The Capitals soon found themselves in deep trouble at 49 for 5 after 7.3 overs following the dismissal of Gulbadin Naib. With only brief resistance from Mohammad Nabi and Jimmy Neesham, the Capitals could muster fewer than 80 runs in total and were eliminated from the tournament.
