Legendary English seamer James Anderson added another feather to his decorated crown, completing 1100 dismissals in First-Class cricket during the ongoing first Ashes Test against Australia. Anderson, a prolific performer for England over the years, cleaned up Alex Carey with an absolute peach of a delivery to attain the milestone.

The incident occurred in the 99th over when Anderson came to bowl his third over of the day. After challenging the Australian batters with his subtle variation and nagging accuracy in the first two overs, Anderson had a poor start to his third over, conceding two successive boundaries to Carey.

However, the veteran cricketer bounced back remarkably by beating the Australian keeper-batter with a beautiful delivery, which went with the angle to shatter the timber.

The dismissal brought a sigh of relief to England, who desperately needed someone to break the mammoth 118-run stand between Carey and Khawaja. Furthermore, it helped the English stalwart to etch his name in history books, recording a whopping 1100 dismissal in red-ball cricket.

Regarding the game, Australia are inching towards England's first innings total of 393, with Khawaja and skipper Pat Cummins battling it out in the middle. As of writing, the visitors are 355 for six, with Khawaja and Cummins batting on 137* and 15*, respectively.
