Naveen-ul-Haq 'Excluded' as Afghanistan Name Squad For Bangladesh ODIs

In a significant development, Afghanistan have named a formidable 19-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh. Experienced middle-order batter Hashmatullah Shahidi has been trusted with leadership duties, with several familiar faces making it into the squad. 

Afghanistan's top-order looks rock-solid, studded with the likes of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran and the dependable Rahmat Shah. Their middle order is experienced enough, having Mohammad Nabi and the dynamic Najibullah Zadran alongside skipper Shahidi. 

Talking about their bowling, the lethal duo of Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman will spearhead the spin department, with young Izharulhaq Naveed also finding a place. Meanwhile, Azmatullah Omarzai and Fazalhaq Farooqi will lead the pace attack, as Farid Malik and Naveen-ul-Haq fail to make it into the team.

Notably, Bangladesh thrashed Afghanistan in the one-off Test match by a whopping 546-run margin. The three-match ODI series between the two teams begins on July 5 in Chattogram.
