Experienced West Indies spinner Sunil Narine had a forgettable day in the office on Friday night, registering the worst bowling figures of his illustrious T20 career. Narine, who represents Surrey, was smashed all over the park in his side's ninth group-stage fixture of the ongoing T20 Blast against Somerset, conceding 55 runs without a wicket in his four-over spell in this process.

Chasing a mammoth target of 196, Somerset got off to a disastrous start, losing Will Smeed and Tom Kohler-Cadmore for single-digit scores. However, keeper-batter Tom Banton and Tom Abell stunned Surrey with a superb counterattack, propelling their side to 51 in six overs.

Seeing his seamers getting smashed, Surrey skipper Sam Curran introduced his trump card Sunil Narine to bowl the seventh over. However, the move backfired on the visitors, as the Banton hit him for a six and a boundary to collect twelve runs in that over.

Narine was even more expensive in his second over, as Abell tore him apart, gathering eighteen runs in this process. After conceding 39 runs in his first three overs, the KKR legend was hammered for two more sixes and a boundary by Ben Green, finishing his spell with mediocre figures of none for 55 in four overs.

However, riding on a superb collective effort from the other bowlers, Surrey secured a clinical 28-run victory and the top spot in the South group points table. Today, they will take on Hampshire in their tenth group-stage fixture at the Oval.
