In a pivotal moment of India versus England Ranchi Test, well-set batter Yashasvi Jaiswal got deceived by Shoaib Bashir and ended up losing his wicket as the ball rolled into the stumps after hitting the toe-end of his bat.

India bowled out England at 353 runs on Day 2 of the Ranchi Test. The conditions seemed good for batting. However, the Indian side suffered an early blow in the form of skipper Rohit Sharma

Though Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill rebuilt the innings, a DRS call went against Gill’s favor as he was sent back ahead of Lunch break.

Moreover, Rajat Patidar’s poor form was prolonged, and the plan of bringing Jadeja in early for a left-right combination backfired on the hosts.

It all, for the nth time in the series, came down to a young 22-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal. The kid kept the scoreboard ticking until Shoiab Bashir trapped him with the art of deception.

Bashir, with 3 big wickets to his name already, bowled a short-length delivery to Jaiswal in the 47th over.  The length forced the opening batter to ram the ball to the off-side on the backfoot. However, Jaiswal was completely deceived by the lack of bounce.

The ball stayed extremely low, and Yashasvi only managed to get the toe-end edge. However, to his misfortune, the edge rolled back and crashed into the stumps. The batter couldn’t believe his luck. It took him a couple of minutes to soak in the dismissal before he made the long walk back to the dressing room.

Meanwhile, Shoaib Bashir was on the seventh cloud as he clipped his 4th wicket of the second innings. The spinner has been exceptional and disciplined with his line and lengths today. Accordingly, Bashir bore the fruits of his hard work.

However, on the flip side, India is now in big trouble. With over 170 runs trail still left to cover, the hosts lost half the side inside two sessions. The game is open, and England remains in the driver's seat.
