In a historic moment in the ongoing India vs. England fourth Test match in Ranchi, Ravichandran Ashwin etched his name in the annals of cricket history by becoming the first Indian bowler to claim 100 Test wickets against England. The landmark wicket came in the form of Jonny Bairstow's dismissal, adding to the significance of the occasion.

Ashwin's 100th wicket against England arrived amidst a dramatic sequence of events. With Bairstow at the crease, the off-spinner delivered a tantalizingly flighted ball on a fuller length, tempting the English batsman into a sweep shot. Bairstow, aiming to capitalize, lunged forward but missed, wearing the ball on his back leg.

Although the on-field umpire initially remained unmoved by the vociferous appeal from Ashwin and the Indian team, Rohit Sharma's astute decision to review the decision proved pivotal yet again. The replays confirmed a flat line on UltraEdge as the ball passed close to the bat, prompting the third umpire to call for ball tracking. The verdict was conclusive – the ball was crashing into the middle stump, and Bairstow had to depart.

As Bairstow trudged back to the pavilion, Ashwin's jubilation knew no bounds. The achievement of 100 Test wickets against a formidable opponent like England underscored Ashwin's mastery and consistency in the longest format of the game.

At the time of writing, Ben Stokes and Joe Root are at the crease with England reeling at 112/4.
