India all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, was giving his best at the crease, but his innings was cut short by Mitchell Starc, Australia’s fiery bowler who has been in exceptional form. India is currently playing the fifth and final Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, and things have taken a turn for the worse for the visitors.

India’s batting lineup was struggling, with half the team already back in the pavilion. Jadeja walked in at a crucial time, hoping to stabilize the innings. Along with Washington Sundar, he started to build a partnership. But just when it seemed like Jadeja was finding his rhythm, Mitchell Starc had other plans.

Ravindra Jadeja vs Mitchell Starc

In the 63rd over of India’s innings, Mitchell Starc delivered a full-length ball targeting Jadeja’s leg stump. Jadeja tried to flick it, but his head fell over as he missed the inside edge of the ball. The ball struck his front pad, and the Australians were quick to appeal for an LBW.

The delivery was a fair one, and the umpires turned to the DRS (Decision Review System) for confirmation. What caught everyone’s attention, however, was Jadeja’s decision to challenge the call, despite knowing he was likely out. He sent it upstairs, burning India’s only DRS for the innings.

The DRS replay revealed no bat involvement, with the Snicko showing a flat line. The ball tracking also showed three reds, meaning the ball would have hit the stumps. Jadeja had no choice but to walk back to the pavilion, a moment of misjudgment that cost India dearly.

Although Starc had seemed a bit off earlier in the day, his delivery to Jadeja was a perfect reminder of why he’s so dangerous. Once he saw India’s lower-middle order at the crease, he found his mojo and bowled a thunderbolt that Jadeja couldn’t handle.

India Struggle Against Aussies

At the time of writing this, India are in a precarious position, with the score at 149 for 8. Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna are at the crease, hoping to hold fort and avoid a collapse.
