Mumbai Indians' opener, Ishan Kishan, has been one of Hardik Pandya's closest friends for a long time now. 

On Friday, Kishan took to Instagram to share a heartfelt video and pen an emotional note for his MI captain following India's big T20 World Cup victory at Barbados, showcasing the strong bond they share.

In the video, Kishan walks into the hotel room, and Pandya is sitting on a sofa. Kishan pulls him into a tight embrace, and the two exchange a couple of words. He also captions the video with a deeply emotional message, expressing his admiration and calling Pandya a 'rare champion'.

'You faced so many things these past few months yet you stayed calm and focused. And today bhaiya you got the result of your hard-work, honesty and sincerity. There’s so much more i feel and want to say but words will fall short. You are a champion and you are rare ♥️💪🏼"

Hardik Pandya and the Indian contingent reached Mumbai after a journey from hurricane-hit Barbados. Upon their arrival in India, they first landed in New Delhi, where they met Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. 

Then, immediately after, they took a flight to Mumbai, where they were once again greeted by lakhs of people as they went on a victory bus parade to Wankhede Stadium. There, more celebrations broke as India celebrated the homecoming of the World Champions, and BCCI awarded them with INR 125 crore prize money.

Pandya played a crucial role in India's T20 WC 2024 campaign. He bowled the final over of the finale against South Africa, successfully defending 16 runs, helping India clinch the crucial victory and bring home the coveted trophy.
