In a recent BPL game between Khulna Tigers and Sylhet Strikers, Rahkeem Cornwall took everyone's breath away with some tremendous fielding. The tall fellow, who was stationed at short extra cover, dived quick to save a single for his team.
The Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 had a pivotal phase as the Khulna Tigers faced the Sylhet Strikers in the 17th match of the season. The Strikers batted first, and the half-century made by Rony Talukdar gave a perfect start.
Zakir Hasan then added a fine 75 off 46 balls before Aaron Jones’ six-ball 20 runs finish helped Strikers post an 182-run total on the board.
Rahkeem Cornwall entertains crowd with amazing fielding effort
That being said, in an interesting moment, a fielding brilliance from big man Rahkeem Cornwall became a major highlight of the match.
The moment unfolded in the ninth overs when Ruyel Miah came round the wicket and delivered a length ball around the off-stump. Bosisto, spotting a hole in the field, went deep in his crease and punched the ball firmly down to extra cover. It seemed destined to pierce the infield, but Cornwall, stationed at extra cover, had other ideas.
Despite his massive body and frame, Cornwall showed brilliant reflexes and dedication. He covered ground by running to his right, diving all the way for the ball. The perfect timing of his effort allowed him to stop the ball cleanly without giving the batter an easy single. The whole stadium applauded his athleticism.
Khulna Tigers, meanwhile, crumbled in the chase. Apart from Bosisto’s 43 off 40 balls, no batter converted their starts, resulting in an 8-run defeat.
