Deadly collision in BPL match [Source: Screengrab, T Sports/YouTube]
The ongoing Bangladesh Premier League encounter between Sylhet Strikers and Khulna Tigers witnessed a deadly collision between two players, as Mehidy Hasan Miraz was left stunned by a poor fielding effort. The incident prevented Bangladesh's premier allrounder Mehidy from bagging the crucial wicket of George Munsey, with the batter surviving a certain dismissal.
The incident occurred during the fourth over of Sylhet Strikers' innings when Scotland's George Munsey had just joined Rony Talukdar following Rahkeem Cornwall's early dismissal. Bowling the first over of his spell, Mehidy Hasan Miraz kept things tight initially, keeping Munsey under the pump with three consecutive dot balls.
As a result, Munsey became desperate to break the shackles and attempted a lofted shot when Mehidy Miraz tossed the fourth ball up, inviting him to go big. The southpaw was deceived by Miraz's guile and miscued it completely. There was a genuine chance of him getting dismissed, but two fielders converged and had a nasty collision at mid off, with the ball popping out of their hands.
Mehidy Hasan was left in shock, as his facial expressions vividly represented his agony following the fielding mishap. Nevertheless, it didn't cost the Tigers much, with Nasum Ahmed castling Munsey in the very next over.
Strikers Aim A Big Total As Zakir Hasan Stands Tall
