Mohammad Amir, the former Pakistan speedster is one of the most skilful bowler when on song and it was on full display during the ILT20 match between Desert Vipers and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
Playing for the Vipers, Amir opened the bowling attack and immediately targeted the West Indian batter, Kyle Mayers who looked scratchy against him. There were a couple of mis-hits as Mayers struggled to play his natural game. His patchy innings came to an end when Mohammad Amir used his magic trick and bowled a magical delivery to dismiss the batter.
The pitch at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium was slow and sluggish and Amir used it to his advantage as he bowled slightly wide and short and there was a hint of seam movement on offer. The ball stuck onto the surface as Mayers looked to punch it on the off side, but got an outside-edge straight to the point fielder.
Knight Riders in a spot of bother!
The Knight Riders boast a strong batting lineup but the side are tottering under pressure as they have lost 3 quick wickets. Amir started the damage as he dismissed Mayers for 2.
It was followed by the wicket of Joe Clarke as Lockie Ferguson knocked his stumps with a pearler and the icing on the cake was the mishap between Phil Salt and Michael Pepper which resulted in Pepper's run-out.
At the moment, Phil Salt is batting and Knight Riders' hopes rest on the shoulders of the Englishman as they aim for a competitive score.
