On Tuesday, January 14, Melbourne Renegades locked horns against Hobart Hurricanes at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The hosts won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first.

The Renegades, batting first, got off to the worst possible start as they lost two early wickets. Riley Meredith breathed fire as he took two wickets in his second over of the match. Both openers returned to the pavilion, and the credit must also go to the fielders for their excellent effort.

On the 1st ball of the 3rd over, Billy Stanlake took a brilliant diving catch to get rid of Josh Brown. However, the fielder injured his shoulder in the process and looked in pain. What looked like a small knock, turned serious when Stanlake returned for his second over of the match.

Notably, the former RCB star was in pain and couldn't roll his arms. He had two false starts and then gave up on the third attempt. Billy left the ground in pain and will not partake in this match anymore.

There is no update on Stanlake's injury, but he has been taken to the hospital for scans. Talking about the ongoing match, the Renegades are 105/4 after 16 overs. Shedding more light on Stanlake, then the 30-year-old, who has been out of the Australia side for more than five years, once played for RCB and SRH.

Notably, the Challengers bought Stanlake for the 2017 season after he made a solid debut for Australia in the same year. He played just two matches that year and then shifted his base to SRH for a year in 2018.
