On July 28, India Women will face Sri Lanka Women in the Women's Asia Cup Finals at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. 

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team is riding high on an undefeated streak this tournament, having secured their place in the finals with a dominant 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka, led by Chamari Athapaththu, has also shown strong form, winning three matches in Group B and securing their spot in the finals by defeating Pakistan Women by 3 wickets. 

The defending champions, India, have a storied history against the hosts in the Asia Cup, with the two teams meeting in the finals on five previous occasions.

In their last encounter in the finals, during the 2022 Women's Asia Cup held in Bangladesh, India triumphed over Sri Lanka by eight wickets. The match, played at Sylhet, saw Sri Lanka posting a modest total of 65/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Renuka Singh was the star with the ball, taking 3 wickets for just 5 runs, while Sneh Rana contributed with 2 wickets for 13 runs.

India chased down the target comfortably, reaching 71/2 in just 8.3 overs. Smriti Mandhana was the standout performer with a blistering fifty, ensuring India Women clinched their seventh Asia Cup title.

As the teams gear up for another clash in the finals, both sides will be looking to make history. India aim to continue their dominance, while Sri Lanka seek to upset the defending champions and claim the title on home soil.
