With a breathtaking bulls-eye throw, Ibrahim Zadran left Dushmantha Chameera stranded, deepening Sri Lanka's batting woes in their match against Afghanistan at MCA Stadium, Pune on Monday, October 30.

It all happened on the last ball of the 40th over as Dushmantha Chameera, who had initially blocked Rashid Khan's delivery, made a last-minute decision to take a single with Angelo Matthews at the other end.

However, Ibrahim Zadran's lightning fast fielding and pinpoint throw hit the bull's eye at the non-striker's end, leaving Chameera short of the crease.

Sri Lanka's innings didn't kick off on a high note, losing their opener Dimuth Karunaratne (15) early on. But the partnership of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis, contributing 62 runs, injected some much-needed stability into their batting.

Following Nissanka's departure with 46 runs to his name, Mendis continued to lead the charge, forming yet another half-century partnership with Sadeera Samarawickrama for the third wicket. However, as fate would have it, when both of them were sent packing, Sri Lanka found themselves in the midst of a mini batting crisis.

The Lankans finished on 241 in 49.3 overs, while the Afghans are well-placed on 142 for three, needing 100 runs to bag their third win.
