Jos Buttler smacked an unbeaten 100 off 58 balls to blaze Rajasthan Royals to a remarkable six-wicket win over RCB in match number 19 of the IPL 2024 season. The dashing English opener launched nine boundaries and four sixes, including one that sealed the deal in the final over of the Rajasthan Royals innings at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Notably, the cricketer also brought up his hundred with a maximum, at a time when his team required just one run to win from six balls. Buttler’s landmark moment, coupled with Royals’ emphatic win even prompted batting partner Shimron Hetmyer to celebrate the occasion with much elation.

The West Indies-based middle-order batter even channeled his inner Suresh Raina after Jos Buttler’s stabbing pull landed outside the deep square leg boundary.

Batting at number six, Shimron Hetmyer arrived to the crease following the dismissal of Dhruv Jurel at 164-4. Chasing 184 for a win, the West Indies batter knocked off the remaining runs alongside centurion and opening batsman Jos Buttler in the final over of the innings.

When Buttler’s full-blooded swat brought up his century and also sealed the deal for the hosts, Hetmyer pulled off a Suresh Raina-like celebration at the non-striker’s end.

Shimron Hetmyer himself punched out a six-ball 11* to ensure Rajasthan Royals finished off the proceedings with five balls to spare.

The outcome also extended Rajasthan Royals’ unbeaten run to four matches this IPL 2024 season, as they solidified themselves at the top of the points table.

Shimron Hetmyer, Jos Buttler and the rest of their Rajasthan Royals teammates will now face Gujarat Titans in match number 24 of the tournament on April 10. The much-awaited contest will also be staged at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
