CSK veteran MS Dhoni has arrived in Chennai along with the rest of his cohorts ahead of their IPL 2024 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

The defending champions, under the leadership of newly-appointed skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, recently travelled across Vizag and Hyderabad to face Delhi Capitals and SRH respectively for away fixtures. 

The ‘Yellow Brigade’ ended up coping demoralizing defeats in both travelling games after having upstaged RCB and Gujarat Titans at home earlier in the tournament.


MS Dhoni and CSK colleagues arrive at home

MS Dhoni was spotted at the Chennai airport on April 6, i.e., a day after Ruturaj Gaikwad and co. sustained a huge defeat to SRH at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

The legendary wicketkeeper-batsman was also accompanied by Shardul Thakur and the rest of his CSK colleagues at the airport.

After leading CSK to their fifth title triumph last year, MS Dhoni relinquished captaincy in favor of rising star Ruturaj Gaikwad prior to the IPL 2024 season back in March.

While the defending champions ravaged RCB and Gujarat Titans at home in their first couple of games of the tournament, Dhoni enthralled a lively Vizag crowd thereafter with a sizzling 16-ball 37* against Delhi Capitals. 

Unfortunately for CSK fans, the team slumped to 20-run defeat to Capitals before falling short against SRH at Hyderabad.

CSK’s upcoming match against KKR will be played at the Chepauk Stadium on April 8. Having registered two wins and two defeats from their four appearances so far this season, Ruturaj Gaikwad and co. are currently placed at number three on the IPL 2024 points table.
