[Watch] Heinrich Klaasen's Dreadful 'No Ball' Takes Conway & De Kock By Surprise

Riding on useful knocks from Devon Conway and Kane Williamson, New Zealand got off to a dream start in the seventh Warm-up game of the ICC World Cup. However, besides their fireworks, an incident that grabbed the fans' attention was a dreadful no ball from South Africa's part-time bowler Heinrich Klaasen to Conway in the 24th over.

After opting to bat first, New Zealand lost Will Young early, as the batter was trapped plumb in front of the stumps by Lungi Ngidi. However, Conway and Williamson steadied the ship, stitching a vital stand of 89 runs.

Once Williamson was retired out, South African skipper Aiden Markram turned up to Heinrich Klaasen in a bid to break the budding partnership between Conway and Tom Latham. However, the part-timer surprised everyone, bowling a waist-high full toss and gifting the BlackCaps five runs.

Klaasen perhaps wanted to bowl a flighted delivery, but the ball slipped out of his hands to go over the heads of Conway and the Proteas keeper Quinton de Kock for a boundary.

Conway, who got out cheaply in the first warm-up match against Pakistan, struck a fabulous 73-ball 78, studded with eleven fours and a six, before retiring out. As of writing, New Zealand are 171 for one, with Latham and Glenn Phillips batting on 19* and 7*, respectively.
