Sunil Narine, the man who hit a scintillating century earlier on Tuesday, took an excellent catch later in the evening during Match 31 of IPL 2024 between KKR and RR, taking place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

And the man who became the victim of the catch was none other than RR skipper Sanju Samson.

Chasing 224, Samson came to bat at No. 3 after RR lost Yashasvi Jaiswal early yet again. He began sharply, playing two gorgeous fours against Vaibhav Arora, but failed to carry on the momentum.

Coming to bowl the fifth over of RR’s innings, Harshit Rana struck in his first over. He bowled a hard-length delivery to Samson, who went for a lofted drive over the infield. However, there was no timing at all, and Narine back-tracked brilliantly to complete a superb catch.

And Rana immediately gave a flying kiss to Shah Rukh Khan, who was at the Eden Gardens stands to cheer KKR.

Yet, RR are desperately hoping Riyan Parag and Jos Buttler to hold the fort, and at the same time, to break the shackles to keep their side in the hunt. At the time of writing this, RR are 84/2 after 6.4 overs, requiring 140 more runs off 80 balls for the victory.
