Riyan Parag entertained his home crowd at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, on Wednesday (May 15) in Match 65 of IPL 2024 between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings. However, he missed out on a well-deserved half-century, as Harshal Patel's loopy slower trapped him plumb in front.

On an evening when RR wickets fell like a pack of cards, Parag held the fort from one end in front of his ardent supporters. The middle-order batter smashed six fours in a 34-ball 48 before Harshal bowled back-to-back slower deliveries to end his stay.

While the first one was outside the off stump, the second ball of the final over was towards the wickets. Parag did not expect it at all, resulting in the ball hitting his pads. Immediately after the appeal, the on-field umpire raised his finger, as Parag left shocked after the wicket.

Even though Parag took the DRS, he knew he was gone, and started to walk off.

Eventually, RR closed on 144/9 after winning the toss and opted to bat first. For PBKS, Sam Curran, Harshal Patel, and Rahul Chahar picked up two wickets each.
