Ravi Ashwin was promoted to number 5 in the match 65 of IPL 2024 between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings when RR were reduced to 42-3 in the 8th over of the match. The spinning all-rounder took some time to settle and then unleashed some beautiful shots, before falling in a bid to hit Arshdeep into the stands in the 13th over.

It was a full delivery, around off. Ravi Ashwin made room and played a lofted cover drive. He timed it well, but not good enough to take it all the way and Shashank Singh at deep cover took an easy catch. Ashwin hit three fours and a six during his 28-run knock, but RR needed him to kick-on and get some more runs to put them in a better position.

The wicket of Ashwin triggered another collapse and from 92-3, Rajasthan ended up losing three wickets in quick succession and were reduced to 102-6. 

Rajasthan are coming into this game on the back of three consecutive losses, and would be hoping that their bowlers step up and finally bring that Q infront of their name.
