After a string of low scores, famed English opener Jonny Bairstow found his mojo during the ongoing World Cup face-off against Pakistan in Kolkata. Opening the batting alongside Dawid Malan, the swashbuckling right-hander slammed a glorious 59, studded with seven fours and a six. However, besides his scintillating stroke play, what grabbed the limelight was his dismissal, as he got out to a nothing delivery off Haris Rauf's bowling. 

The incident occurred in the 19th over when the English ship was sailing smoothly, with Bairstow and Joe Root out in the middle. After conceding two runs on the first ball of his new over, Haris Rauf bowled a full-length delivery, which Bairstow smashed with brutal power in the off side. 

However, unfortunately for the batter, the ball went straight to the cover, where Agha Salman didn't commit any mistake, holding on to a sharp catch. 

The dismissal left Bairstow disappointed, while Rauf celebrated the wicket with a big smile on his face. After his departure, Ben Stokes joined the middle to consolidate the innings alongside Root. 

As of writing, England are 134 for two in 24 overs, with Stokes and Root batting on 10* and 19*, respectively.
