Hardik Pandya’s Easy Catch Drop Adds To India’s Fielding Woes
The incident occurred in the 20th over of the first innings, when Towhid Hridoy attempted a powerful drive down the ground. The ball went straight to Hardik Pandya at mid-off, who got into position but spilt what should have been a straightforward catch. The dropped chance gave Hridoy a crucial lifeline, frustrating the Indian skipper.
Pandya, usually reliable in the field, looked visibly upset, while Rohit Sharma's frustration was evident as India struggled with their catching.
Rohit's Missed Catch Denies Axar Patel Hat-Trick
Earlier in the innings, Rohit Sharma failed to grab an easy catch off Jaker Ali. The moment was even more significant as it was Axar Patel’s hat-trick ball, which could have been a milestone for the Indian all-rounder.
Bangladesh Off To A Nightmare Start
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Bangladesh had a disastrous start. In the very first over, Mohammed Shami dismissed Soumya Sarkar, followed by Harshit Rana removing captain Najmul Hossain Shanto for a duck. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the next to fall, managing just 5 runs off 10 balls, before Axar Patel struck twice, dismissing Tanzid Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim.
At the time of writing, Bangladesh are struggling at 92 for 5 in 25 overs, with Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali at the crease, looking to rebuild their innings.
