Hardik Pandya has been the centre of criticism since he took over Mumbai Indians' leadership in IPL. He had a torrid time both as a player and as a captain in IPL, but his credentials as a cricketer were never in doubt, and the man is showing that again in India's first World Cup game against Ireland.

Hardik was brilliant with both bat and ball in India's warm-up game, and in the game against Ireland, he has picked three wickets. His three wickets included Lorcan Tucker, Curtis Campher and of Mark Adair and the second of of those of Campher was a classical seam-delivery that will make any world-class pacer proud.

It was the last delivery of the ninth over and Hardik Pandya bowled it on a good-length, around off. Curtis Campher tried to defend it, but did so tentatively and the ball caught a faint outside edge of his blade as Rishabh Pant behind the stumps took a regulation catch.
