India cricket team’s hero of the ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan, Shivam Dube, failed to display his magic for the series finale as he was dismissed off just one run by Azmatullah Omarzai. But the man behind the stumps, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, pulled off an excellent catch to end Dube's short stay at the crease.

India squared off with Afghanistan at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru for the three-game series finale. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss for the third consecutive time and decided to bat first for a change to embrace new challenges.

However, the move backfired as the hosts witnessed a horror show at the top. After Yashasvi Jaswal was caught by Mohammad Nabi, Virat Kohli followed his cue by throwing his wicket on a golden duck.

India had a lot of faith in all-rounder Shivam Dube, who has been the find of the series so far. He absolutely dominated the Afghan bowling attack in the previous game at Indore.

However, the man in form failed to shine this time around. The wicket of Chinnaswamy produced movement for a change to fast bowlers as there were visible cracks on the surface. The visitors took advantage of that as Azmatullah Omarzai's straight-up delivery curled back in after hitting the crack.

Meanwhile, Dube failed to use his feet and ended up getting a thick outside edge. The ball flew like a tracer bullet from Dube's bat, but wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz pulled off a sensational effort with the gloves. He dived to his left in time to get hold of the ball.

A second delay could have resulted in a boundary. But Gurbaz was alert and used his presence of mind to send Dube packing. A significant half of the wicket's credit should go to Gurbaz owing to his sharp work behind the stumps.

That being said, Shivam Dube's wicket has plummeted India's chances of a clean sweep in the series as the batters are struggling to put up a competitive first innings score on board.
