In a shift from his performance in the last match, Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal experienced an unfortunate dismissal in the third and final T20I against Afghanistan at Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Jaiswal, who had impressed with a scintillating half-century in the second T20I, could not sustain his form on the batting-friendly pitch of Bengaluru, falling prey early in the innings for a mere four runs.

Jaiswal missed out on Bengaluru's batting-friendly pitch

The decisive moment came during the third over, delivered by Afghanistan's Fareed Ahmad Malik. Malik's strategically bowled short delivery unexpectedly rose after gripping the deck, catching Jaiswal off-guard.

Attempting to execute a pull shot, Jaiswal ended up with a top edge. Mohammad Nabi, displaying exceptional agility, dashed from his position at mid-on to secure a remarkable catch, marking a significant setback for the Indian side.

Meanwhile, this match witnessed several strategic changes in the Indian lineup. Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma, and Arshdeep Singh were replaced by Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson, and Avesh Khan. However, the team faced further challenges as India lost three more wickets of Virat Kohli, Shivam Dube and Sanju Samson.

With the team's score at a dismal 22/4, the onus has fallen on skipper Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singj to navigate India through these early disruptions. The pair's immediate task will be to forge a substantial partnership to lay a solid foundation for the subsequent batters.

Afghanistan, on the other hand, will aim to capitalize on their early breakthroughs. The team, buoyed by the dismissal of key Indian batters will look to maintain their momentum with a couple more wickets, hoping to gain an upper hand in this encounter where their pride is at stake.
