As the world waited for Virat Kohli to become the first Indian batter to reach 12,000 T20 runs, the former India captain during the ongoing third and final T20I against Afghanistan in Bengaluru gained an unwanted record for himself.

Kohli playing at his favourite M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, managed to score a golden duck, which put him on par with KL Rahul, who is second on the list of Indian batters with the most T20I ducks (4). India captain Rohit Sharma leads the unwanted batting record with a fair margin with 12 ducks.

Kohli, who came after Yashasvi Jaiswal's wicket, was surprised by the bounce generated by Fareed Ahmed, who managed to get the ball to hit the shoulder of the former's bat, which the fielder at mid-off caught easily.

Behind Sharma, Kohli and Rahul, all-rounder Washington Sundar and middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer come at the No. 4 and No.5 position, with four ducks each.
