The St Lucia Kings are dominating the ongoing clash against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the CPL 2024. Faf du Plessis, the skipper of the St Lucia Kings, won the toss in this game at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.

Falcons struggled to a moderate total

The Falcons, hoping to turn the tables after losing their first three games of the campaign, faced a tough challenge. Their batting failed to deliver the strong show they needed to put a formidable total on the board and have the opposition under the mats. They played out their 20 overs, struggling throughout and managing only 142/7. Noor Ahmad was the peak of the bowlers for St Lucia Kings, picking up three wickets for 18 runs from his four overs.

Faf du Plessis set the tone for the St. Lucia Kings in the first over

The Kings would have hoped for a strong start as total like this can be tricky to chase down, especially if you lose early wickets. However, the skipper of the Kings, Faf du Plessis, ensured that they got a blazing start to their chase and had a good momentum from the beginning.

Du Plessis made his intentions clear from the first ball of the chase. He hit three boundaries and a massive maximum to Shamar Springer in the very first over and picked up 20 runs from it.

Though du Plessis did not continue for long after that, his onslaught set the tone for the Kings' chase early on. Faf was later dismissed by Imad Wasim, but not before he had scored a blazing 28 off 15 deliveries.
