The Trent Rockets faced the Oval Invincibles in the 31st match of The Women's Hundred 2024 at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham, United Kingdom. It was important clash for the campaign of both teams as the winner of the game was to advance to the Eliminator of the tournament. As far as the losers are concerned, they were to be eliminated from the tournament. 

The Oval Invincibles restricted Rockets for a paltry total

The Oval Invincibles won the toss in this game and opted to field first. The decision by Lauren Winfield-Hill was bakced by her bowlers as they struck wickets from the beginnig of the innings. The charge was led by the South African star, Marizanne Kapp as she dismissed the two openers very quickly. This early jolt put the Trent Rockets on the back foot and they failed to recover from this. 

The Rockets only managed to score 91/8 in their allotted 100 balls. There was not much resilience shown by the Rockets' batters other than Ashleigh Gardner. She scored 43 runs off 26 deliveries and was the sole reason that the Rockets were able to post something in the board.

During her stay in the crease, Asheligh Gardner played a stylish lofted drive over the bowler's head which had the lazy elegance of Rohit Sharma filled in it. On the fourth delivery of the 10th set, Ryana MacDonald-Gay bowled a fullish delivery around the off stump. Gardner picked up the length early and lofted it over the bowler's head for a boundary. 

Coming back to the game, the Oval Invincibles chased down the traget in 94 balls with five wickets remaining. The win confirmed that the Oval Invincibles will play against the London Spirit in the Eliminator of the tournament.
