15th August, 2024 marks the 78th Independence Day of India. During these 78 years of independence, the nation has been a witness to a great many achievements in all the fields.

India is a cricket crazy nation and nearly the entire population take pride in the achievements of the national cricket team. The sentiments of the entire nation was reflected in a post uploaded on the X (formerly Twitter) handle of Punjab Kings, one of the ten franchises that play in the Indian Premier League.

Punjab Kings pay tribute to the biggest achievers of Indian cricket

The post uploaded on the X-handle of the franchise was an emotional tribute to all the recent biggest achievements of Indian cricket. It was a picture montage that started with Hardik Pandya's image with the Indian tri-colour.

The montage included moments from the recent title run of Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2024, the win in 2011 ODI World Cup to moments from the iconic Test series win in Australia in 2021. In the background of this picture montage was the emotional song -'Teri Mitti Mein Mil Jawa' - by the singer B Praak from the bollywood movie, Keshariya.

Besides the recent iconic moments from Indian cricket, the montage also had some of the greatest achievers in the sports from the nation like - Shikhar Dhawan and Sourav Ganguly.

India's journey to newer and greater heights

Notably, after the recent success in the T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian team is moving towards a new phase. This has started with the appointment of Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach after the successful stint of Rahul Dravid ended. The new unit under Gambhir's guidance will get a chance to bring newer glory to the nation during the upcoming Border-Gavaskar trophy (slated to start from November 2024) and the Champions Trophy 2025 (scheduled for February 2025).
