The Oval Invincibles women faced the Trent Rockets Women in the 31st match of The Women's Hundred 2024 at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. It was a crucial game for both the teams as the winner was to go through to the Eliminators of this edition.

The Invincibles won an important toss and put the Trent Rockets to bat. The South African all-rounder of the Oval Invincibles, Marizanne Kapp weaved her magic with the new ball and destroyed the top order of the Trent Rockets. She dismissed the two openers of the Rockets in the second set of the game and gave a huge jolt to them. Kapp later picked up the all-important wicket of Nat Sciver-Brunt, the Trent skipper, to put them under further trouble.

Kapp's destructive spell left the Trent Rockets answerless as they submitted without showing any resilience. All the Rockets could manage was 91/8 in their 100 balls.

The Oval Invincibles boast of a powerful batting line-up and it was expected that they will chase down the target rather easily. However, that did not happen as bowlers of the Trent Rockets, especially Ashleigh Gardner decided to put up a fight. They managed to pick up five wickets of the Invincibles and put them in a spot of bother. However, Marizanne Kapp kept her composure, used her experience and guided the team past the target with six balls remaining and five wickets in hand. 

Oval Invincibles will play in the Eliminator of The Hundred 2024 Women's

With this win the Oval Invincibles have finished at the third spot in the points table and have qualified for the Eliminator that will take place on the 17th of August, 2024. The winner of the Eliminator between the Invincibles and the London Spirit will move on to play the final against the Welsh Fire Women on August 18 at the iconic Lord's in London.
