KL Rahul is one of the technically correct batters in Indian cricket and has played plenty of match-winning knocks for India over the years. However, his keeping skills have been questioned time and again and though he has been regularly donning that role in ODIs, he is not a natural wicketkeeper. The man though is showing with each passing game how much he has improved his keeping skills and has pulled off plenty of amazing stuffs behind the stumps in recent times.

In the World Cup 2023 game against Sri Lanka at Wankhede, he has now produced an effort that would even make the great MS Dhoni proud as Rahul not only took a great catch but followed it up with a brilliant decision to force his skipper take the DRS which eventually paid rich dividends.

The batter was Chameera and Shami who was on fire bowled a short of a length delivery, angling around leg. Chameera tried to clip it but seemed to have missed it as the umpire called it wide even though Rahul took a brilliant diving take to his left. No one looked confident and it was only KL Rahul who signalled immediately with a DRS sign and Rohit Sharma obliged to forward the same to the umpire. The replays rolled and they showed that the ball has kissed the glove on the way and it is indeed, out!

The whole incident once again brought the importance of KL Rahul in spotlight and with India at the moment look just unstoppable as they continue to churn out dominating performances one after another.
