It is important to note that, the match, was full of twists and turns. The Renegades posted a challenging total of 168/7 after being put into bat. Marcus Stoinis made a much-needed partnership with Ben Duckett. The pair put on 83 runs for the fourth wicket, bringing the Stars back into contention. But it was Stoinis' scintillating shot that will be remembered long after the match.

In the third ball of the 8th over, Stoinis displayed his brutal force with a flighted delivery on the off-stump line by Adam Zampa. Taking a stride forward, the Australian all-rounder smoked the ball high and long over the bowler’s head, sending it soaring a remarkable 106 meters into the stands. However, he was eventually dismissed for 48 runs off 35 balls, just shy of his half-century.

Nonetheless, his efforts, combined with Duckett’s composed 67 from 49 deliveries, steered the Stars towards a successful chase. With 22 runs still required, the ever-reliable Glenn Maxwell and Hilton Cartwright took charge in the final stages, ensuring the Stars sealed the deal with five wickets in hand.

After this match, Melbourne Renegades occupy the sixth position on the table with four points, having secured four wins from six matches. On the other hand, Melbourne Stars are at the bottom of the points table, also with four points, but have managed only two victories out of seven matches.
