Faf du Plessis has taken his game to another level this IPL season. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper has racked up 554 runs in 11 matches and has aged like a fine wine.
In the ongoing crucial match against the Mumbai Indians, Faf du Plessis once again stood up for his side and has laid a strong foundation for the other batters to capitalise on.
Throughout the innings, Faf played some delightful strokes, but the best of the lot came in the 10th over of Akash Madhwal. In the 4th ball of the over, Madhwal bowled a length ball on the stumps and Faf anticipated it early. He shuffled across slightly and used the pace on the ball to scoop it over the fine leg region.
Faf connected with it perfectly as the ball landed well over the fence. Even Rohit Sharma was shocked with the precision of it. Talking about the match, RCB have recovered really well after the early jolt.
Despite losing Virat Kohli early, the duo of Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell have resurrected the innings. Both the batters have smashed their respective fifties as RCB are well positioned at 131 for 2 inside 12 overs.
