The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) have joined hands for a common groundbreaking initiative. Indian cricketers, including Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, were featured in a video released by the BCCI, encouraging everyone to donate organs and save lives, which was previously announced by ICC chairman Jay Shah.
ICC Launches "Donate Organs, Save Lives" Campaign
The campaign, "Donate Organs, Save Lives," was launched before the third ODI between India and England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The video released by the BCCI features prominent Indian cricketers who encourage people to donate organs and save lives.
Shah initially announced the initiative and then advocated by the BCCI, with the video featuring Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Varun Chakravarthy, Washington Sundar, and Arshdeep Singh.
In the video, the cricketers readily explained the benefits of donating organs, saving up to eight lives and changing the world for good. Organ donation has become a massive part of today's world, where many patients require an organ and are unable to obtain one, causing significant problems for their families.
With this initiative, more people will join the progressive movement, giving people another chance at life. The event, which will take place in Ahmedabad, is designed to raise awareness about this groundbreaking campaign, which can help save millions of lives. Jay Shah also advocated for the campaign through his social media, mentioning that he wants everyone to gift everyone a life.
