[Watch] David Willey Knocks Over Finn Allen with a Classic Beauty in the First Over

The English left-arm pacer David Willey has been brilliant with the new ball in the past, and he proved it again in the second ODI against New Zealand, that why he is one of the best in this regard. After putting up 226 on the board in the first innings, England needed a decent start with the ball, and they got that with the wicket of Finn Allen in the very first over.

The first ball of the over saw the ball moving past Allen's bat, followed by a massive appeal from the English side, only to be turned down by the umpire that prompted the home team to go for the review and all that happened after the skipper Jos Buttler didn't look that convinced but still he went for it. The UltraEdge showed no spike, and that caused England to lose a review straightway.

Allen survived, but not for long, as Willey got his number on the next delivery that came back into the right-hander and crashed onto his middle stump as he delivered from around the wicket.

This caused a massive dent to New Zealand's hope as his power-hitting range would have come in handy for this shortened match, which is 34-over a side encounter due to rain that happened early on.

England, too, lost their way at the start of their innings as they were five down for 55, but Liam Livingstone's heroic innings of 95* and a 42-run cameo from Sam Curran saved their day.

By the time of publishing, New Zealand were 56 for three after the end of 12 overs.
