David Warner is on fire in the Big Bash League 2024-25, and his latest show against Brisbane Heat in Match 25 was nothing short of brilliant. Leading Sydney Thunder, Warner made sure to entertain the crowd with some innovatve strokes, especially in the sixth over against Mitchell Swepson.
Warner Vs Swepson Was Pure Box Office
The sixth over started, and David Warner was ready to go big. Swepson tossed up the first ball on leg stump, and Warner knew exactly what to do. Down on one knee, he swept it over backward square leg for a cracking boundary. The crowd went wild, but Warner wasn’t done yet.
The very next ball was a loopy one outside off, and Warner decided to switch things up. He went for a reverse sweep and sent the ball sailing over short third man for another four. It was cheeky, bold, and pure Warner brilliance.
But the over wasn’t over yet. On the last ball, Warner smashed another boundary to cap off a massive 17-run over. By the end of the powerplay, Sydney Thunder was sitting pretty at 56/1, thanks to their skipper’s fireworks.
Warner Aiming To Push Thunder Past 180
At the time of writing this article, Warner is still out there and is leading from the front with 46 off 34 balls. With Chris Green alongside him, the Thunder are eyeing a big total as they aim to push the score past the 180 mark. If Warner keeps going, fans are in for some more thrills.
