David Warner, the former Australian player is known for delivering in pressure matches, but in the Big Bash League (BBL) knockout match between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars, the Thunder captain failed to deliver and was dismissed for a 2-ball duck. He played a rash shot to Tom Curran's nothing delivery and threw his wicket away.

In a do-or-die game, Stars won the toss and elected to bowl first, and the team from Melbourne drew the first blood as Curran got the prized wicket of the opposition skipper. Warner, the second highest run-getter in BBL 2024-25 was in some form heading into the knockouts, but Curran had some other plans.

He bowled short and wide as Warner slashed hard at the ball and found his former Australian teammate, Marcus Stoinis at covers, who took a sharp catch. The Thunder captain couldn't believe his luck as he walked off disappointed, knowing that a big score was on the cards.

Winning team to face Sixers in Challenger

The winning side from this contest will play the Sydney Sixers in the Challenger. Hobart Hurricanes have reached the finals and will await the finalists from the Challenger.

Stars had a brilliant journey in the tournament after a slow start. At one stage, they needed 5 wins out of 5 to reach the knockouts and the team pulled off a miracle and have reached tjhe knockouts where they are battling against the Thunder.

In the ongoing match, lightning stopped the play, but it resumed after a while as Thunder are 37/2 inside 5 overs.
