Ayush Mhatre recently made headlines with his fantastic strokeplay in the U19 Asia Cup and is considered as one of the emerging young talents in India. He was in line to be selected in IPL as well and was called up by CSK for trials before the auction.

Things did not fall in place there, but since then Mhatre has shown that he is a serious talent and now in a Vijay Hazare match against Nagaland, the right-handed batter smashed  181 off just 117 balls. The opener is playing for Mumbai in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. He started with a fifty against karnataka and then came up with an unbelievable knock of 181 from just 117 balls.

Ayush Mhatre Impresses After IPL Rejection

It included 15 fours and 11 sixes with a strike-rate of 154.70 and then hammered 148 off just 93 balls. The knock against Nagaland included shots all over the ground against both pacers and spinners, and became the youngest player at the age of 17 to score 150-plus in men's List A cricket.

Ayush Mhatre surely seems to be a talent who can excel in white-ball cricket and could be soon seen playing for IPL if he continues to fire in domestic tournaments. Mhatre scored 176 runs in five innings at an average of 44 and strike-rate of 135.38 in U19 Asia Cup and played a big role in India's charge to the final of that tournament.

His team, Mumbai have so far won five out of their seven matches in Vijay Hazare, and are third in their group with Punjab and Karnatka occupying top-2 spots.
