The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a change in both the venue and date for the HBL PSL 2025 Player Draft. Initially planned to be held in Gwadar, the event will now take place at Huzoori Bagh, Lahore Fort, on January 13. The decision to shift the venue was due to unexpected logistical issues that made it difficult to host the event in Gwadar.
However, Gwadar hasn’t been completely left out of the PSL plans. It will now be a key stop during the PSL 2025 Trophy Tour, which is scheduled for March.
The Player Draft is a major event where all six teams will finalise their squads by picking players across different categories. The PCB has already decided the order in which teams will make their picks.
In the first round of the Platinum category, Lahore Qalandars will pick first, followed by Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United.
In the second round, Islamabad United will pick first, followed by Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Lahore Qalandars. Quetta Gladiators will get the first pick in the third round of the Platinum category.
The event is set to be held at one of Lahore’s most iconic heritage sites, Huzoori Bagh, Lahore Fort, on January 13, 2025. The broadcast will start at 12:30 PM PKT.
