Mohammed Siraj, one of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s seasoned campaigners, did the trick for India on Sunday when they took on the Netherlands at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to play their last league match of the World Cup 2023

The right-arm quick, coming to play at his second home, began the day with a wicket-maiden, and the one whom he dismissed was the Dutch veteran Wesley Barresi.

It was a 134.7 kph delivery by Siraj, pitched on the length region, and was going away from the batsman. Barresi tried to play a cover drive but was beaten by the movement of the ball. The Dutch opener found a thin outside edge before KL Rahul, who just hit the fastest century by an Indian in the World Cups, took an excellent catch while diving low to help Siraj enjoy success.

Barresi, however, was not sure about the nick behind, and hence, he went to take a DRS against the call. The replay showed there was a clear edge, and Rahul did not make any mistake before grabbing it with big gloves.

Chasing 411, the Dutch are in early trouble, batting on 11/1 after 4.3 overs. Max O'Dowd, who is batting on 6* off 19 balls, holds the key for them to get to a respectable total.
