After a stellar show in the Women's Asia Cup 2024, it was expected that the Sri Lankan skipper, Chamari Athapaththu would lit up The Hundred 2024 competition as well.

However, that was not the case in the ongoing game as England star trapped her lbw and ended her scratchy looking innings. Athapaththu, a naturally aggressive player was supposed to be Oval Invincibles' answer for aggression at the top, but against the Spirit, she stayed at the crease for 19 balls and scored just 11 runs.

Coming from over the wicket, Sarah Glenn bowled a fuller length ball and it spun back in sharply. The Oval Invincibles batter went for a slog sweep, and gets beaten all ends up as the ball struck her on the front-pad and the umpire raised her finger immediately.

The invincibles batter, soaked up 19 deliveries, but piled on more pressure on her teammates, as she failed to find the boundaries at the right moment.

The Invincibles need 121 runs to win the contest. Earlier in the innings, it was the Deepti Sharma show in London, as he scored a quick-fire 30-ball 46 to steer her side to a decent total after an early collapse.
