Shai Hope, the West Indian keeper/batter took one of the best catch of ILT20 as he took a blinder to dismiss James Vince in the ongoing contest. In the game between Gulf Giants and Dubai Capitals. Hope's catch could turn out to be the difference maker as Vince was going all guns blazing on a batting paradise.
Gulf Giants batted first and Vince was off to a cracker with a couple of boundaries. He looked in ominous touch as the Capitals had no answer to his onslaught. The English batter reached 24 off 14 when Hope decided to pull off a flying catch to take his wicket.
Sri Lankan bowler, Dushmantha Chameera bowled a short of a length ball outside the off and Vince slashed hard at the ball. He got an outside-edge, but it was travelling fast and Hope pulled off a stunner. He leaped towards his right and took a one-handed stunner to end the innings.
Gulf Giants lose momentum after Vince's wicket
Gulf Giants lost their momentum once James Vince went back to the pavilion. The pitch was a belter for batting in the first few overs and Vince took advantage of it, but after his departure, the other batters couldn't capitalise.
Jordan Cox (70 off 51) held the innings for a brief moment, but he received no support as wickets tumbled at regular intervals. The Giants are at the last position in the points table and need to win the contest to stay alive in the competition. Another loss could severely dent their qualification hopes.
