Mehidy Hasan smashes 29-ball fifty [Source: @IamUthso/X.Com]
Mehidy Hasan Miraz generally plays in the middle-order, but in the clash against Sylhet Strikers he showed his class at the top and smashed the bowlers to all corners of the park and brought up a 29-ball fifty in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). This was one of the best innings of the tournament which came in chasing.
The Khulna Tigers needed 153 runs to seal the win and Mehidy decided to take matters into his own hands as he played a blinder and made sure that the team stays in a solid position for a win. His innings was laced with 6 fours and 2 sixes.
He came out to open with the plan to utilise the power-play, which he did to perfection. Mehidy Hasan's game relies on finding the gaps rather than going for big shot, and he did the same today.
He treated Sylhet Strikers' bowlers like school kids as they found it hard to contain the Khulna skipper in a crucial run-chase.
Mehidy made it up for his poor bowling with the bat
The Bangladesh trump card had an off-day with the ball in hand. He looked clueless against the Sylhet batters and went for 40 runs in 4 overs as he picked up a solitary wicket. However, the other bowlers made up for him and picked wickets at regular intervals.
Abu Hider and Salman Irshad (2 wickets each) were the pick of the bowlers as Khulna managed to restrict the Sylhet side to a decent 152/9 in their 20 overs.
