South Africa's prominent all-rounder Wiaan Mulder took an extraordinary catch, dismissing Daryl Mitchell in the high-octane face-off against New Zealand in Lahore. Mitchell, who struck a blazing fifty in the last game against Pakistan, couldn't make much impact, as Mulder took a blinder to get him out off Senuran Muthusamy's bowling.

The incident occurred during the 39th over of New Zealand's innings when Mitchell had just joined Kane Williamson to steady the ship following Devon Conway's dismissal. South Africa captain Temba Bavuma's decision to bring Senuran Muthusamy into the attack paid rich dividends for the Proteas, as the left-arm off-spinner got rid of Mitchell at a crucial juncture.

From over the wicket, Muthusamy bowled a full-length delivery as Daryl Mitchell hammered it straight down the ground with brute force. However, he couldn't clear the boundary, as Mulder took an extraordinary flying catch at long-on.

Mulder's incredible fielding effort reminded fans of Faf du Plessis, who used to take stunners like this in his playing days.

New Zealand In A Commanding Position In 2nd Tri-Series ODI vs SA

Despite Mitchell's cheap dismissal, New Zealand are in a commanding position in the ongoing affair against South Africa. After Mitchell's departure, previous game's centurion Glenn Phillips joined former captain Williamson in the middle. As of writing, the BlackCaps were 299 for four, with Williamson and Phillips batting on 128* and 24*, respectively.
