Veteran Indian batter Virat Kohli recorded a rare failure in the ongoing Indian Premier League season, as he was dismissed cheaply off Jasprit Bumrah's bowling in the clash between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The incident occurred during the third over of RCB's innings when MI skipper Hardik Pandya introduced Bumrah into the attack in a bid to provide the hosts with the opening breakthrough.

His move worked wonders, as the ace Indian speedster got rid of Kohli, who has been in sublime form in the IPL this season.

After starting his over with two dot balls, Bumrah angled one into Kohli, as the batter went for an audacious hoik over the leg side. However, he couldn't connect the ball, managing only an inside edge to the MI wicket-keeper, Ishan Kishan.

The young Indian player committed no mistake behind the stumps, diving towards his left and holding on to a spectacular catch.

After Kohli got out, Akash Madhwal dismissed RCB's debutant batter Will Jacks, who had began his innings with two glorious boundaries.

Riding on their seamers' exploits, MI have reduced RCB to 28 for one in 4.1 overs, with Rajat Patidar and Faf du Plessis batting on 5* and 12*, respectively.
