Friday seems like a day of collisions as three major accidents have taken place today. The first incident involved Saim Ayub twisting his ankle and taken off on a stretcher against South Africa. The second was a nasty collision between two players in Bangladesh Premier League.

The third and perhaps the most dangerous event occurred during the Big Bash League clash between Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers. The accident involved Daniel Sams and Cameron Bancroft as the match was halted for several minutes.

How the unfortunate event unfolded

The unfortunate event took place when Lockie Ferguson bowled a fuller length ball on the pads of Cooper Connolly who flicked it in the air as Daniel Sams charged towards the ball from deep mid wicket and Bancroft ran back from the square leg region. The two players had no communication whatsoever as both the Aussie players collided with each other and Bancroft's knee struck on Sams' head.

The Sydney Thunder players went down, and while Bancroft had blood on his nose, he walked out of the field with the team physio. However, Sams' injury was serious as the bowler was taken off the field on a stretcher.

Perth Scorchers post 177/4

Scorchers posted 177/4 as the Thunder have a tough task ahead. Opener, Finn Allen led the charge as the talented Kiwi went berserk and slammed a quick-fire 68 off 31 deliveries.

Connolly provided the finishing touches as he scored 43 off 31 balls and helped his side get to a strong total against the David Warner led Thunder side. A win for the Scorchers will take them to the second place in the points tally.
