In an amusing turn of events during the first Test between India and England in Hyderabad, England's wicketkeeper Ben Foakes became the centre of attention, but not for his skills behind the stumps. The incident occurred on the first ball of the third over, bowled by Mark Wood, and left players and commentators alike in fits of laughter.

The situation unfolded when Indian captain Rohit Sharma flicked a full-length delivery from Wood towards deep square leg. The fielder hurled the ball back towards the wicketkeeper's end. However, Foakes, who was intently watching the incoming ball, unwittingly collided with the stumps, knocking them over completely. This blunder not only caused the ball to bypass him but also led to Foakes tumbling to the ground.

This comical mishap quickly lightened the mood on the field, with Foakes' teammates unable to contain their laughter. Even Foakes himself, despite the embarrassing moment, joined in the amusement. The incident also provided a moment of hilarity for the commentators, with Ravi Shastri humorously remarking on air, "That’s a clean sweep," adding to the entertainment.

Aside from this lighthearted interlude, the match saw some serious cricket action. England, after opting to bat first, were bowled out for 246 runs. Captain Ben Stokes led from the front, scoring a brisk 70 off 88 balls in 'Bazball' style. Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were in fine form, taking three wickets each, while Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel claimed two apiece.

In response to England's total, India has made a strong start, reaching 35 without loss after four overs. Young Yashasvi Jaiswal looks in fine touch, scoring 27 off 21 balls, while Rohit Sharma is batting at 5 off 3, setting the stage for an intriguing contest ahead.
