Afghanistan's wicketkeeper-batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz, on Wednesday, took to social media to share his admiration for an Indian song that is buzzing on social media right now.

Gurbaz finds solace in 'Ram' in latest Instagram story

Gurbaz, known for his explosive batting, posted a mirror selfie on his Instagram handle, with the background score of the popular song "Mere Ghar Ram Aaye Hain." This devotional score, sung by Jubin Nautiyal and produced by T-Series, celebrates the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and has gained widespread acclaim.

The song's usage by Gurbaz is particularly noteworthy given the cultural and religious context. "Mere Ghar Ram Aaye Hain" is a song dedicated to Lord Ram, a central figure in Hinduism, while Gurbaz himself is Muslim. As a result, the use of the song by Gurbaz has made headlines with fans lauding him.

The song has resonated with a wide audience, cutting across age groups, and has climbed the charts in the wake of the temple's consecration. The widespread appeal of the melody is evident, with its lyrics and tune striking a chord with millions, including Gurbaz.

On the cricket front, Gurbaz experienced a challenging period in the recent three-match T20I series against India. He scored a total of 87 runs over three matches, averaging 29.00 at a strike rate of 126.09.

His performance, considered below par, was one of the factors in Afghanistan's 3-0 series loss. Gurbaz is set to return to action in Afghanistan's upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, which will include three ODIs, three T20Is, and a solitary Test match.
